I met Lisette in 1985 at my sister Erryn's funeral, who died of cancer at age 14. We were 11 and 12 and became friends for life. We stuck together thru thick and thin and became sisters. Proverbs 18:24... At age 14 my family moved, but Lisette was still with me every weekend having fun in Murrieta. In 1988 the Movie "Beaches" came out and became our movie. The song "Wind Beneath My Wings" was our song and had so much meaning. We were each others heros and she had "the smile to hide the pain". Lisette went thru so much in her life, but was so strong and such a fighter. We both enjoyed our years of pioneering and meeting the men of our dreams and being in each others weddings. I couldn't have been happier for her when she found her "Rock" in Dave. He was the perfect man for her to get her thru the hard times. Thank you Dave!
Lisette was with me at the birth of my daughter Kelsey. Her nickname was"Pressure" because every time my back pain started, I called "Pressure" and she would put her thumbs in the pressure points of my back. I returned the favor when I was present to share the most special moments of her life when she gave birth to Caden and then Cole. She was calm, cool, and collected when she birthed them in a pool of water in her living room. She prayed to have her gifts from Jehovah. They were healthy babies that would light up her life. They meant the world to her, and she would have done anything for those boys.
I was always proud of Lisette for who she was and I know she was proud of me and my family as well. She never held back in telling me how she felt. She was a wonderful sister that I will miss deeply. I'll never forget that beautiful face, perfect hair, awesome smile, and her deep dimples. But most of all, I will remember her faith and love for her father Jehovah. What an example she is for all of us!
